February’s Theme: Give Your Gut Some Love
So, January is over and we made it through one of the toughest months of the year! We welcomed 30 new members to our ever growing amazing group of empowered and motivated ladies, a fantastic start to 2023!
Imbolc celebrates nature awakening from winter slumber, so from 1st February we are heading back into the light; the first snowdrops are already peeping through and I noticed the early signs of wild garlic this week, which is most exciting!
Our theme for this month is Show your Gut some Love; never mind the commercial nonsense of this months ‘holiday’ complete with tacky red roses and false ideas of love. Instead, let's focus on the real stuff- self love, gratitude to our bodies and nurturing our trillions of wee gut buddies, who really do deserve all the love we can give them.
To mark this month of gut love, we have lots to get excited about! Good food is, of course, vital for good gut health so eating lovely food is essential. We’ll be making delicious dark chocolate treats to tingle our taste buds, vibrant, rainbow coloured ferments to get our gut buddies dancing with glee and sumptious plant-based meals to savour on chilly nights. Taking the time to make yourself healthy, delicious food is the ultimate act of self-love- you are worth it! As the lighter, brighter months approach, we all want to feel energised so we can get out there and enjoy ourselves!
I will be mindfully checking out all the new growth and sharing the first of my foraging finds, which is just the best way to increase diversity for our wee gut buddies. Plus, it’s such a thrill to find wild, edible food!
Our Facebook Group is going from strength to strength, with so much support, encouragement and engagement with FB Live Chats, we truly have created a real community spirit which is rather wonderful! This is my place to engage with everyone on a more personal level, my Live FB chats are proving very popular so I will be hosting a few every month, which are recorded and pinned to the Featured Posts in the group.
This month's chats are Fibre and Diversity to support our wee Gut Buddies and The Power of Fermented Foods to Heal the Gut.
Meditation, affirmations, sound healing and raising our energy vibrations are also on the menu this month and we will be joining Heal Scotland's Daily Breathwork Challenge, so lots going on this month!
